We were formed in 2001 with 27 members and $80 million premium. In 2015 BrokerWeb Management merged with Brokernet NZ and became NZbrokers. Today, we are New Zealand’s number one broking network, with more than 45 members and over $850 million premium. Our members cover the length and breadth of New Zealand, and we support them with innovative products, technology and compliance advice. Our people
Jo Mason
Chief Executive Officer
Jo has close to 40 years insurance industry experience, both in New Zealand and Australia.
In July 2016 Jo was appointed CEO of NZbrokers. Prior to this she was National Manager - Underwriting Agencies and Cluster Groups at Allianz Australia, a role that had responsibility for the strategic growth and development of the Specialised Agencies, including Global Transport, Strata Community Insurance and Pet Plan.
Preceding this role, Jo was at IAG for 30 years. Her last role being NZI’s GM Corporate and Facilities in Auckland where she helped lead the integration of the Lumley NZ business into IAG.
Jo attended INSEAD business school in France & Singapore completing an Advanced Management Programme. She also holds a New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5) and is an independent board member of the Insurance Brokers Association of NZ (IBANZ).
Danielle Brookbanks
Chief Operating Officer
Danielle has been with NZbrokers since early 2017 in an Operational capacity, appointed to Chief Operating Officer in 2023.
Prior to joining NZbrokers, she held roles in Key Account Management in the beauty distribution industry in Australia and Sales and Client Services and Compliance for a leading provider of energy training solutions in the UK. Working across multiple industries has lead her to relish the challenge of truly understanding a business and how it operates.
Danielle enjoys the NZbrokers No. 8 wire attitude that ensures we are focused on delivering what we promise and keeping our members and end customers at the forefront of everything we do.
Rochelle Nayler
Head of Technology Solutions
Rochelle has more than 30 years insurance industry experience, across underwriting, broking and technology.
In 2014 Rochelle was appointed Head of Technology Solutions for NZbrokers. Prior to this she was a Software Consultant at Ebix NZ, a role that had responsibility for delivering and supporting software solutions to Insurance Brokers.
Preceding this role, Rochelle was in the broking space, initially as a broker then moving into the IT space responsible for the implementation and administration of a new broker system both in New Zealand and Australian offices. Her career in the insurance industry started in Underwriting.
Rochelle attended the AUB Group Academy in 2017. This is a joint venture with the Australian Institute of Management and gained her a Diploma of Leadership & Management. In 2023 she completed a Leadership Program through the Institute for Strategic Leadership.
Rochelle is passionate about the use of technology as an enabler. Her current role is particularly focused on having technology behind the scenes enabling brokers to do what they do best – give insurance and risk advice.
Simon Moss
Member Services Manager
Simon has worked as a senior underwriter, a senior broker and is back for a second turn with NZbrokers.
As an underwriter he worked for NZI (formerly South British), then moved to Commercial Union.
In 1993, he took up the challenge to become a broker, initially with Marsh (formerly Sedgwick) and then for FMR Risk. More recently, Simon worked for BrokerWeb, managing their Auckland branch.
His role with NZbrokers from 2012 to 2019 helped to build relationships and an understanding about many broker businesses throughout New Zealand. He will use this experience to further develop the Member Services role for the benefit of NZbrokers’ members and their clients.
He has been fortunate to work in Canterbury, Mid Canterbury, Wellington, Hawkes Bay and Auckland.
Simon has a Diploma in Business Studies (endorsed in Insurance Management - Massey University). These studies included Insurance Management, Risk Management, Public Relations and Human Resource papers.
John Davison
Technical Manager
John joined NZbrokers in November 2017 after spending 37 years with NZI.
John brings significant experience and local knowledge to the role. His previous roles have been in all aspects of insurance, sales, underwriting, audit, branch management in Auckland, Rotorua and Tauranga, and as National Manager, Client Placement Facility (CPF), responsible for managing the NZI team that services CPF throughout NZ.
John has a strong technical background particularly negotiating wordings and dealing with claims issues. He also has strategic, people-management and leadership skills, being a people manager with NZI for over 25 years. John is also a Senior Associate of ANZIIF.
Outside of work John enjoys watching all types of sports and plays the occasional game of golf.
Tamara Gedye
Senior Systems Analyst
Tamara seamlessly transitioned to NZbrokers in 2017 after a 5-year tenure at IUA, where she demonstrated her prowess in Accounting and IT Administration, particularly in eGlobal and Crystal Reports. Tamara's prior experience with eGlobal and knack for information systems proved to be valuable for NZbrokers project Nexus, and then into project Lola.
Her academic endeavours included pursuing a Bachelor's in Accounting and Information Systems, during which she deftly balanced part-time responsibilities as an Office Project Assistant at a Marine Engineering company. There, she played a pivotal role in implementing a new information system.
Recently attaining her Level 5 certification, Tamara's journey reflects a commitment to professional growth.
Beyond her career, Tamara finds joy in playing board games, following cricket, and immersing herself in outdoor adventures like camping and hiking. Tamara is currently conquering New Zealand's 10 Great Walks.
Bojana Rosandic
Senior Systems Analyst
Bojana moved from Serbia with her family in 1996 and has found a much-loved new home in New Zealand. She joined the NZbrokers Management team in August 2015 in an IT support role.
In her previous position at Ebix, Bojana gained good knowledge of eGlobal which has allowed her to expand her skills. Bojana assists the support team with ongoing eGlobal maintenance, reports, enhancement and development and also enjoys building good rapport with members across the group.
Bojana has a New Zealand Diploma in Business from Open Polytechnic and she enjoys implementing her accounting skills whenever needed. In her spare time, she is a big movie goer and avid basketball, tennis and rugby league supporter. Word of advice – don’t engage her in any debates about her favourite teams, it’s probably an argument you are going to lose.
Norm Tupu
Systems Analyst
Norm joined NZbrokers in June 2019.
Prior to this he worked at Fidelity Life Assurance, most recently as Commissions Team Leader in the Finance department, working closely with their I.T team to manage their numerous commission systems. During his 8-year tenure at Fid, Norm also held roles in their Retention and Client Services teams.
He began his insurance career at NZI in the Personal Lines Branch call center, and working various positions from the Resolutions team to 2IC Team Manager.
Norm brings a wealth of experience in customer services and insurance, with various touch points around the industry he is a well-rounded member of the NZbrokers team.
Outside of the office Norm is a keen supporter of the NZ Warriors and the Queensland Maroons rugby league teams. He also enjoys making music and spending time with family.
Monique Ford
IT Support
Before working in the Insurance sector Monique studied Hairdressing in Auckland and became fully qualified in 3 years, she continued this work for an additional 3 years before venturing into a completely different career in a completely different part of Aotearoa known as Kerikeri, in the Far North.
Monique joined NZbrokers in 2020 and works fully remote in an IT Support role, she previously worked at BrokerWeb Risk Services Northland in a broker support role for 3 years.
In her previous position at BWRS Monique gained a wide variety of knowledge in Insurance and eGlobal systems, this allowed her to expand her skills when joining NZbrokers. Monique is the first point of contact for all NZbrokers Support queries but also assists with maintenance and support of eGlobal, Eddie, Forms by Air and Central hosting. She also enjoys building great relationships with Members and external Vendors.
Beyond her career, Monique finds joy in spending time with her family, lots of beach trips in the beautiful Far North, travelling overseas and finding all the best walks to do in Northland.
Simone Miller
Office Administrator
Simone is one of the newest team members to NZbrokers. She comes from a Czech/Australian heritage and has just recently moved to New Zealand with her family in the last year. She has a degree in Biomedical sciences as well as Traditional Chinese Medicine. Following her studies, Simone went on to manage several different dental surgeries before moving into administration roles.
She is employed by NZbrokers in the role of office administrator working closely with the COO. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience to support the NZbrokers team in their day-to-day operations and maintaining the back end of systems like the website, portal and FormsByAir. Her analytical thinking and approach is making her transition into the Insurance brokering field smooth and manageable.
In her personal time, Simone enjoys motorbike riding, exploring her new country and spending time with family and friends.

We are always evolving and improving and do everything we can to enable our brokers to be leaders in their field. In short, we put our brokers first.

Our community contribution
In July 2021, we officially announced the formation of the NZbrokers Foundation. The purpose of the foundation is to support our people and our communities. Through the foundation, NZbrokers provides scholarships to our members to the value of $46,000 every year and partners with Orange Sky, a non-profit organisation that provides free mobile laundry and shower services to people experiencing homelessness in New Zealand. The charity aims to create a safe, positive, and supportive environment for these people who too often are ignored or feel disconnected from society.
